AI is revolutionising our society, and understanding what is at stake is becoming critical. That’s why the Université de Montpellier, Numalis et BionomeeX are launching AICET, a standardised test to measure the public’s knowledge of AI.

A strategic tool for everyone

AICET meets the growing needs of companies, public authorities and training organisations:

  • Companies: Assess and train employees on the use, design and ethics of AI. The ‘AICET-score’ makes it easier to hire and develop AI skills.
  • Universities: Adapt AI study programmes and guarantee quality training for students.
  • Training: Offer structured and internationally recognised training courses for all audiences.

Three levels of expertise, five areas of competence.

AICET assesses knowledge at three levels:

  • Acculturation: General understanding of AI and its current applications.
  • Advanced user: Mastery of the principles and methods of AI design and validation.
  • Expert in AI: Advanced expertise and ability to explain AI design and innovation.

For each of these levels, test-takers are assessed on five skill areas:

  • Theoretical: Mathematical and algorithmic foundations of AI.
  • Applied: Concrete areas of application of AI in everyday life and industry.
  • Operational: Practical implementation of AI, programming and deployment of systems.
  • Legal and ethical: Laws, standards and ethical issues relating to AI.
  • General knowledge: Key figures and entities in the field of AI.

A standardised assessment for a better understanding of AI. AICET is intended to be the ‘TOEIC of AI’, defining global standards for understanding this field. The results will provide an accurate assessment of each individual’s knowledge.

The AICET-score will be a valuable resource for companies and public institutions. It will make it possible to manage continuous training and recruitment, and to better understand the impact of teaching in AI.
