Arnault Ioualalen, CEO of Numalis, will be co-presenting the 1st Big Data / Data Science Montpellier Meetup of 2023 with Jean-Michel Torres, Project Manager at IBM Quantum Computing.
On 15 February from 6.30pm to 9.30pm at the BIC in Montpellier, join us for a Meetup with two fascinating talks, which will end with a convivial moment of exchange over an aperitif:
Artificial Intelligence standards and regulations
The rise of Artificial Intelligence throughout the industry is coupled with a growing awareness on the part of legislators who want to regulate its use in order to protect citizens (users and designers). It is with this in mind that bodies such as ISO and CEN CENELEC are developing standards to define rigorous processes, based on the state of the art and best practice, that provide manufacturers with a reliable framework for the design and validation of AI, capable of providing reassurance. These standards are the basis for meeting the European regulations that are currently being drawn up (AI-Act).
This MeetUp will cover:
- the framework and the issues involved in linking the standards to the regulations currently being drafted,
- the impact of this framework on French [and European?]
- how to prepare for this through a practical case study.
Speaker: Arnault Ioualalen is the CEO and co-founder of Numalis, a twenty-strong SME based in Montpellier that publishes software for auditing AI systems. He is involved in international AI standardisation as editor of the ISO/IEC 24029 standards on AI robustness. It also contributes to CEN CENELEC working groups to prepare the operationalisation of AI-Act in the European standards field.
The quantum computer: does it exist?
- the challenges and promises of quantum computing
- how does it work?
- where do we stand?
